Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to create a user profile to make a purchase?
Yes. We need address information to compute your shipping and sales tax, and we also want to keep the site secure.

Wait... did you say "sales tax"?
Yeah, afraid so. But it's only for NY state residents, and they don't even have to pay tax on clothing items.

I have a coupon! How do I use it?
Coupons only work when you're logged in to your account - so log in, open your cart, and you'll see a field where you can enter that coupon code.

Somebody gave me an Eschatone download card. What do I do with it?
In the upper right-hand corner of this page (and every page in the store) there's a box labeled REDEMPTION! Just enter the download code in that text area and hit the "submit" button. You'll be taken to the download page straight away.

I see lots of CDs and vinyl here. But can I order digital downloads from the store?
You certainly can. At the top of music product pages, there's a pull-down menu labeled "Format" - check it out and you'll find a few options for purchasing physical products with downloads, or downloads alone. All of our CDs and vinyl records come with a free MP3 download of their musical content. For a couple dollars more, you can get uncompressed FLAC files instead of MP3.

How much do digital downloads cost?
MP3s and FLAC files generally cost less than physical CDs and vinyl, and price varies based on the number of songs on the album - select one in the Format pull-down menu to see the price (the red price at the top of the page will change when you pick a different format). We have to charge slightly more for FLAC files because of the amount of space and bandwidth they consume.

How large are the downloadable files?
All of our files are collected in .zip archives, so each album is one big file - once it's finished downloading, you click on it to "unzip" and all the individual song files will be right there in a folder for ya. We encode our MP3s at the highest possible quality, so they're large for MP3s. (We also include the album art in the .zip package, so that adds a little more heft as well.) FLAC files are "lossless" - they are extremely large files (they can run up to a full CD size of 750MB; we don't recommend purchasing them if you have a slow connection).

Are your downloads DRM-free?
Heck yes, they are. And our MP3s will play on any device, including the iPod and iPhone. But with great power comes great responsibility: we humbly ask that you be cool to our artists and treat their music with care. You know what we're sayin.

What if I just want one song and not a full album?
If the artist's vision is a full album, that's what we put out. So for the most part, we only offer complete albums. However, the full Eschatone catalog is also available through every mainstream digital retailer from eMusic to iTunes, and most of them offer single-song downloads.

So how do I download my files?
Once your purchase is completed, you'll be taken to an INVOICE page - a link to download your files is right there in the invoice. That link will be e-mailed to you as well; it comes in a separate e-mail from your receipt, so be on the lookout. The link takes you to a download page, where you just click and go.

How long is the download link good for?
The link lasts 24 hours from the time of your purchase, and can be used on multiple computers in that time. If for whatever reason you can't get the file downloaded in that time, e-mail our Support Team and we'll work it all out.

How do I listen to FLAC files?
For Windows users: Winamp will play FLAC files with the FLAC plugin for Winamp. For Mac users: MacAmp Lite X will play your FLAC files.
